Step 1: After I have proofed your project, export the project from iMovie to your desktop.
Here's the TUTORIAL. Step 2: Once the project is fully exported (wait for iMovie to finish!!), upload your movie project to your Google Drive and "Share" it to me at [email protected] . Here's the TUTORIAL. We're going to spend this week (9/14 through 9/17) editing your raw recorded footage in iMovie, a simple "nonlinear" editor that uses digital clips than can be shuffled like cards.
ON FRIDAY 9/18 I WILL LEAD YOU THROUGH A DEMO ON "EXPORTING" YOUR FINISHED PRODUCT OUT OF iMOVIE INTO A COMPRESSED FORMAT THAT YOU WILL SUBMIT FOR A GRADE VIA GOOGLE DRIVE. YOU SHOULD BE DONE EDITING, AND YOUR INTRO SHOULD BE READY TO EXPORT, ON FRIDAY. Use the green button below to link to an "Introduction to iMovie" Tutorial. I suggest you watch a bit, pause when it shows you how to perform a step, and then complete the step in iMovie. Your intro will be evaluated on the following, for a total possible of 25 points: -- Stable, high-quality camera work, including composition. (5 Pts.) -- Proper use of audio and white balance/exposure settings to create a professional-looking, professional-sounding recording. (5 Pts.) -- Your professional presentation during the Intro and ability to communicate. (5 Pts.) --Length of final edited introduction (60 seconds MAX). (5 Pts.) -- Inclusion of your responses to the 3 prompt questions. (5 Pts.) Make sure you've properly inserted/ejected the SD Card when downloading footage into iMovie from the card. Click the button below to link to the Introduction to iMovie. You only have two days left to record your introduction during class. If you don't finish, you must complete the assignment during lunch or take equipment home. The class will be moving forward, downloading footage into iMovie and learning how to edit it.
Now, about the Intro.... Your recorded "Intro" should discuss what you wrote the other day: Why you're here, what you want to learn, what you want to create in the class, and any other interesting info about you (career interests, hobbies, etc). Keep your intro professional, but FUN! It shouldn't be more than 60 seconds long, MAXIMUM. Your intro will be evaluated on the following, for a total possible of 25 points: -- Stable, high-quality camera work, including composition. (5 Pts.) -- Proper use of audio and lighting settings to create a professional-looking, professional-sounding recording. (5 Pts.) -- Your professional presentation during the Intro and ability to communicate. (5 Pts.) --Length of final edited introduction (60 seconds MAX). (5 Pts.) -- Inclusion of your responses to the 3 prompt questions. (5 Pts.) Make sure you're recording to the SD Card; we will download footage into iMovie from the card.
