We've got a short week! You owe me 2 pieces of information by Wednesday---check the front board.
When we return from break, you'll apply for a new job. Please take a moment to complete this Survey on Student Technology Use: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/65C3MCV
Then, we'll grab a snack and head out to the open classroom area to discuss your potential topics for the Investigative Report. Bryan, Kanesha, Anjelica and Veronica---please stay in the lab to finish your Assignments from Wednesday. Everyone else, we will listen to each person's idea--without judgement--and ask questions to help them sharpen their focus for the project. In addition to your regular duties this week, you must finish ALL 5 ASSIGNMENTS on the Investigative Report page; this includes choosing a topic and submitting it to me. Please read all directions for the assignments; incorrectly submitted work will be deleted.
If you were absent on Friday, you missed the opportunity to vote for our new slogan. The winner is "KJCN: The Eye of the Jaguar". Martha will add that into our opening graphics and closing credits.
We also started our "Investigative Reporting" Project. Take a look at the Project Page HERE. I'll work with Green Team, then Gold, to cover the basics of Investigative Reporting. You should have your topic chosen by Wednesday, March 9th. We need a SLOGAN for our show! Go to Socrative.com to vote for your favorite!
Then, it's time to put your Big Kid pants on. We're going to take on some heavy topics as we get started on your Investigative Reporting Project (see Syllabus at right for more info on Timeline). Go to our new page on Investigative Reporting to get started. GREEN TEAM: A&E Team and School News Team have places to go, people to see, and questions to ask today. See me after voting. |
